History on the Internet thanks to the ATM X-Stream service

On July 29, Internet users will be able to participate in another interesting event thanks to the ATM X-Stream service. That time, ATM S.A. will perform a live Internet video broadcast from a dramatized staging of the fight for the Polish Securities Printing House [during the World War II], accompanied by a musical performance at the New Town Market Square in Warsaw. Those events will be parts of the celebration of the 62nd anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising. As many as 3 thousand users will be able to simultaneously watch the events via the Internet. This attractive event will be of great interest for people who are interested in history, both from Poland and abroad.

Maciej Kobiałko, consultant in ATM S.A., said: “The event is organized by the Office of the Capital City of Warsaw, with which we have already been cooperating in broadcasting the City Council meetings. Using the ATM X-Stream service for broadcasting the events accompanying the celebrations of the 62nd anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising is yet another example of use of our service. The scale of the event imposes high technical and organization requirements, so we are excited about the new project ordered by the City Office. At the same time, we are glad of the opportunity to bring the history closer to young Warsaw inhabitants, who thanks to the ATM X-Stream service will be able to learn about the historical events at their computers.”

X-Stream is a video-streaming solution dedicated to facilitate all types of real-time Web broadcasts. The X-Stream service includes three layers: video, transmission, and distribution. ATM S.A. will provide a streaming server with a 1-Gbps link, as well as will operate the encoding station at the event site. The “Together Above the Divisions” Association (Stowarzyszenie Razem Ponad Podziałami) will be responsible for the television aspects of the event (operating the cameras and video/audio editing).

More information about the project, including the detailed schedule of the staging, is available at the website of the City Promotion and Development Bureau, Office of the Capital City of Warsaw: www.um.warszawa.pl.
