On July 1, 2006, ATM S.A. signed a multi-year contract with the Axel Springer Polska Sp. z o.o. publishing house for providing telecommunication services.
The long term of the contract is of particular importance, because it confirms the trust into the high competencies of ATM S.A. the publishing house was taking advantage of also in the past. The extension of the cooperation results from the fact that Axel Springer Polska has moved to new premises, so a need has arisen to redefine the publishing house’s telecommunication needs. The contract value is kept confidential.
Under the contract, ATM S.A. will be providing broadband data transmission services and Internet access services, as well as will provide backup IP links to the ATMAN network to guarantee redundancy of the offered services.
Małgorzata Naziębło, Director, Media Telecommunications Department, ATM S.A., said: “The contract is an example of the ATM’s activity in the media sector which the company regards as strategic for its development. Extension of cooperation with such customer as Axel Springer demonstrates the efficiency of our company and our ability to provide highest-quality services to our customers.” Hubert Meler, CIO, Axel Springer Polska, said: “Axel Springer is a giant publishing house. The ICT (information & communication technology) service provider must meet expectations of more than 30 editorial sections. On the one hand, our journalists require continuous (24/7) contact with the world, and on the other hand, our readers should be able to freely use our websites. Any downtime is out of question, as it would result in measurable losses. The service level in the past and the quality of the ATMAN network resources undoubtedly have influenced our decision to select the ATM’s proposal.”
Axel Springer Polska has been in business since 1994 and is one of the largest magazine publishers in Poland. Among other titles, it publishes the Fakt and Dziennik dailies, the Newsweek Polska weekly, and the Forbes monthly.
