|Sputnik Software, ATM S.A. subsidiary, successfully concludes another deal|
In June, Sputnik Software made the best proposal in a tender for the provision of smartcards and related software, and signed contracts with a number of major universities in Poland. This deal marks a step forward in the implementation of electronic student IDs.
Previously, the company provided cryptographic libraries used by educational institutions for personalization purposes, and the overall value of the recent contracts is approx. PLN 1 million.
Smartcards provided by Sputnik Software comply with the regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education dated November 2, 2006 with respect to university education records (Journal of Laws Issue 224, Item 1634), and have been used throughout the world as part of various identity solutions, including chip-based proof-of-identity implementations.
In response to growing demand from government agencies for innovative IT solutions, Sputnik Software established a research and development department in 2005. The organization covers various aspects of security, including cryptography, public key infrastructure, network access control and other smartcard-based solutions. Also, the department’s tasks include marketing technology components related to security, including smartcards and software.
