Multimedia Mobile Network Operator Play, and mPay S.A. (ATM subsidiary) announced an agreement to jointly implement a mobile payment service
The users of Play mobile network now have an opportunity to use mobile phones for cashless purchases of goods and services. It is an innovative service that is compatible with the latest contactless technology (NFC) as well as all generations of handsets currently on the market. The service is available in traditional retail locations, web commerce sites and for various remote payments. mPay subscribers who are prepaid mobile users can top up their prepaid balances from their mPay accounts. All mPay subscribers can instantaneously transfer funds between mPay accounts.
"A mobile phone has ceased to be exclusively a communications device; today it can also fulfill the role of a wallet. It is important that mobile payments are simple in execution and available to all consumers. Play unequivocally supports all initiatives of this nature on the market" – declared Chris Bannister, President, Play.

mPay estimates that over the next five years the service will attract several million users in Poland and will become as popular and accepted as payment card services.
