07.01.2009

On January 6, 2009, ATM S.A. gave scholarships to the students of the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics, the University of Warsaw (UW), who were members of the champion programming team. The ceremony took place in the Golden Hall of the Ioannes Casimirus Royal Palace.

The scholarships were handed by Roman Szwed, ATM S.A. President, and Her Magnificence Katarzyna Chałasińska-Macukow, the University of Warsaw Chancellor. The ceremony was attended by Prof. Krzysztof Diks and Prof. Jan Madey, tutors of the students. The event was well covered by the media. The scholarships were awarded to Marcin Andrychowicz, Maciej Klimek, and Marcin Kościelnicki.

As a technology company, ATM particularly appreciates the successes of young Polish programmers and perfectly understands the specifics and difficulties related to the challenges faced by the students. Therefore, the company is full of admiration of all the new successes of the students who come on top places in worldwide programming championships. ATM S.A. has been closely cooperating with the University of Warsaw for over four years. The company sponsored the team preparing for the Polish Championships and then to the European semi-finals and world finals. As the main sponsor, ATM S.A. funded yearly scholarships for the best students.

As we announced previously, in November, the present scholarship holders won the 2008/2009 Central European Championships in Team Programming, held in the Institute of Informatics, Wrocław University. The contest was entered by 75 three-person teams from 34 universities from Austria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Poland, and Hungary.
