ATM S.A. achieved over PLN 283 million of revenue and PLN 10.83 million of net profit in 2009

ATM S.A. announced its consolidated financial statements for the final quarter of 2009. Cumulatively, after four quarters of 2009, ATM S.A. had PLN 283.31 million of revenue and PLN 10.83 million of net profit. This is a 6% growth in terms of revenue, and 21% in terms of net profit, when compared to 2008.

Despite the economic downturn in 2009, ATM S.A. managed to improve its results compared with the previous year. The company reported the best results (both in 4Q 2009 and in the entire year of 2009) on sales of telecommunications services under the ATMAN brand. However, the fourth quarter did not bring the increase in revenue and profit on integration operations that was expected at the turn of the year.

“The fourth quarter should be seen as successful in terms of telecommunications, and weaker than expected in terms of integration operations,” said Tadeusz Czichon, Vice president of the Management Board, ATM S.A. “When analyzing ATM’s annual results, one must note that in spite of harsh market conditions and a noticeably worse year in the entire industry, the company managed to improve its results of 2008. We are especially happy with the 27% increase of the operating profit for the entire Group, with ATM S.A. achieving as much as 46% here,” added Czichon.

Extremely good results in telecommunications

In 2009, ATM S.A. reported PLN 90 million of revenue and PLN 13.98 million of operating profit on telecommunications operations (in 2008: PLN 72.79 million of revenue and PLN 9.71 million of operating profit — up by nearly 44%). This further proves that the company was right to invest in telecommunications infrastructure in 2007 and 2008. This infrastructure now allows the company to maintain its growth dynamics in this area, in spite of generally worse macroeconomic conditions on the market.

Hard turn of the year in integration operations

In the fourth quarter of each year, ATM S.A. capital group (especially KLK S.A. and ATM Systemy Informatyczne Sp. z o.o.) usually have very good results in ICT system integration. Regrettably, the fourth quarter of 2009 was worse in this respect than in the previous year. The results were below expectations, influencing results for the entire year. Cumulatively, after four quarters of 2009, the ATM S.A. capital group had a total of PLN 189.94 million of revenue and PLN 8.09 million of operating profit (in 2008: PLN 193.79 million of revenue and PLN 10.98 million of operating profit) in the IT system integration segment.

“When we looked at the integration operations’ results of the first three quarters of 2009, we were expecting a much better year end. Unfortunately, some contracts were not finalized in the fourth quarter by ATM S.A. capital group’s companies, which had a significant impact on the Group’s consolidated results in this period,” said Roman Szwed, President of the Management Board, ATM S.A. “However, it should be emphasized that also in the fourth quarter, the company had many successes in integration operations, including the focus on finalizing the tender proceedings and the resulting contract for constructing the Nationwide ICT Network for the 112 emergency number (OST 112), which is the largest project in ATM S.A.’s history. It is an unprecedented success that will have a positive impact on our results in the future. It will especially stabilize our revenue on integration operations in 2010,” Szwed added.
