ATM S.A. achieves in Q1 a net profit of more than PLN 3.2 million

ATM S.A. announced its consolidated financial statements for the first quarter of 2010. The consolidated revenues from sales in the period were PLN 69.12 million, the operating profit was PLN 4.47 million, and the net profit was PLN 3.23 million. Compared to the first quarter of the preceding year (which was the best first quarter in the Company’s history), the sales increased by 7%, and the operating profit increased by 12%. Particularly noteworthy is the high net profit (PLN 3.23 million) for the time of year; in the first quarter of 2009, the company recorded a loss of PLN 0.16 million.

The financial results of the ATM S.A. Group in Q1 2010 should be assessed as very good, especially taking into account that in the first quarter of a year, revenues are typically lower than in other quarters due to the specific nature of the market. For the first time in many years, the Group achieved a positive consolidated net profit in the first quarter instead of a loss, which leads to an expectation that this year will be particularly prosperous for ATM S.A.

“Good first quarter results are a result of our strategy of stabilizing the Company’s revenues and profits through increasing the share of permanent contracts, mostly for telecommunications services”, said Roman Szwed, Management Board President at ATM S.A. “The good start gives us good perspectives for the entire year 2010, because historical data shows that in the past years, the first quarters were the worst, and typically were marked by a zero or even negative net profit”.

The most important achievement in the first quarter was the signing and launch of a contract for construction, deployment, and maintenance of the nation-wide IT network for handling the 112 emergency number (“OST 112 Project”). The value of agreements already signed under the project exceeds PLN 300 million, and further agreements are to be entered into at later stages (up to the maximum value of ca. PLN 400 million). It is the largest contract in ATM S.A.’s history, and it will have a significant impact on the company’s market position and revenues in the near future. ATM Systemy Informatyczne Sp. z o.o., an ATM company, will be responsible for the integration part of the contract.

“The first effects of the OST 112 contract are already visible in the Q1 financial results, which has a positive impact on the stabilization of our results in the first quarters of the year”, said Tadeusz Czichon, Chief Financial Officer, ATM S.A. “The ATM Group is at present in a unique position. In addition to stable recurrent revenues from telecommunications services, we have to a large extent secured our revenues from integration services for the next periods”.

The quarter was also the first period of dynamic growth of revenues from telecommunications services based on the newly launched Telehouse. Poland datacenter. The new datacenter enjoys large interest. Its parameters enable providing colocation services to even the most demanding customers. Due to the stable high demand for such services, it is expected that revenues from telecommunications services will significantly increase throughout 2010.
