ATM SI's contract for a matrix platform for the PLATON project

ATM Systemy Informatyczne Sp. z o.o., operating as part of a consortium with ATM S.A., has signed an agreement with the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The project will be coordinated by the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center.

The agreement was signed after ATM SI had been awarded with the “PLATON Science Support Platform, Stage 1: Shared services container” contract under an open tender. Accordingly, for one year, ATM SI will gradually sell ICT cabinets along with their equipment, and the components of the infrastructure enabling reliable NFS-based file sharing. All items will be delivered on site, installed and commissioned. Related training will also be ensured.

The implementation of the PLATON project (www.platon.pionier.net.pl) will allow to expand the domestic scientific ICT infrastructure (the PIONIER network) with applications and services that support scientific research and development projects performed by Polish research teams under the Innovative Economy program. The direct objective of the project is to deploy state-of-the-art ICT services for the Polish scientific environment: videoconferences, eduroam, campus solutions, universal archiving, and interactive scientific TV. The installation will be performed in five sites: the Częstochowa University of Technology, the Łódź University of Technology, the Kielce University of Technology, the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (LubMAN UMCS) and the Białystok University of Technology.

The project is co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund, as part of the Innovative Economy program. The agreement is worth PLN 4,095,000.00, VAT incl.
