ATM SI wins a tender for the PL-Grid implementation

ATM Systemy Informatyczne Sp. z o.o., acting in a consortium with ATM S.A., has signed a contract with the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow.

The consortium won an unlimited tender for staged delivery of disk arrays, FC switches, IT/communications racks, and related equipment. The delivered disk array will be a component of the infrastructure built under the PL-Grid project (Polish infrastructure for IT support to the science in the European Research Space).

The goal of the PL-Grid project is to provide the Polish scientific community with IT services based on networked computer clusters to support e-Science in such fields as bio-information science, chemistry, or physics. The infrastructure must be compatible with the European and global grid. The system will be scalable, and will enable adding local computer clusters of universities, research institutes, or technological platforms. It will be also used by the government administration, crisis-management teams, and industrial entities. Under the project, an open nation-wide grid infrastructure is being deployed to support scientific research and enable integration of experimental data with results of advanced computer-based simulations.

The project is co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund, as part of the Innovative Economy program. The contract value is PLN 1,679,940 (VAT-inclusive).

ATM Systemy Informatyczne Sp. z o.o.
