ATM S.A.: more than PLN 444 million of income and PLN 31.9 million of operating profit in 2011

ATM S.A. published a consolidated report for Q4 of 2011. For telecommunications activity rendered under the brands ATMAN and Thinx Poland, the last year was exceptionally successful. In the field of ICT systems integration, on the other hand, the past year was slightly worse than the record year 2010. Increasingly throughout 2011, ATM S.A. generated the highest income on sales in its history, amounting to more than PLN 444.5 million (an increase by 11% y/y), PLN 133.02 million of sales margin (an increase by 2% y/y), PLN 31.9 million of operating profit (a decrease by 4 % y/y) and PLN 16.7 million of net profit (a decrease by 22 % y/y). EBITDA increased by 3%, reaching PLN 57.75 million in 2011.

Telecommunications and added services

In Q4of 2011, in the telecommunications services segment, ATM S.A. generated PLN 72.6 million of income on sales (an increase by 78% y/y), PLN 17.5 million of sales margin (an increase by 7% y/y), PLN 4.4 million of operating profit (an increase by 26% y/y) and PLN 9,8 million of EBITDA (an increase by 15% y/y). In total, in 2011, ATM S.A. generated record financial results in this segment: PLN 175.2 million of income on sales (an increase by 50% y/y), PLN 17.3 million of operating profit (an increase by 9% y/y) and PLN 37.1 million of EBITDA (an increase by 11%).

The last quarter of the year, similarly to the entire 2011, was record in terms of income on sales of colocation services, which were the main driving force for growth in telecommunications activity, just like during the preceding periods. Only throughout its most recent year of activity, ATM obtained more than 120 new customers in three ATM data centres (an increase by 36%) and boosted income on sales of colocation services by more than 37% in the year 2011.

The end of 2011 was particularly successful for the Issuer in terms of colocation activity. As expected, customers exhibited huge interest in the newly constructed F3 building in the ATMAN Data Centre one of the most modern facilities in Poland. Already during the first month after its construction was completed, ATM rented more than 33% of available area under multi-annual contracts.

ICT systems integration

In Q4of 2011, IT companies from ATM capital group generated PLN 101.7 million of income on sales (a decrease by 19%), PLN 19.8 million of sales margin (a decrease by 12%) and more than PLN 5.3 million of operating profit (a decrease by 24%). Moreover, year-on-year, the financial results in this segment of operations recorded a drop as compared to the historically best year for this type of activity, 2010, and amounted to, respectively: income on sales of PLN 279.6 million (a decrease by 10% y/y), PLN 66.2 million of sales margin (a decrease by 1% y/y) and PLN 16.1 million of operating profit (a decrease by 15% y/y).

The biggest contract in the field of ICT systems integration carried out in Q4 of 2011 was the continuation of the construction of the Polish Nationwide ICT Network for the purpose of the emergency number 112 (OST 112). Successful completion of this project, implemented in the integration part by ATM Systemy Informatyczne S.A., is planned at the end of Q1 of 2012.

2011 was a very successful year for ATM Software, which during this period recorded an increase in income by more than 94% and an increase in net profit by more than 600%, which had considerable impact on the consolidated result of ATM S.A. Only in Q4 of 2011, ATM Software, which specialises in innovative software development for multimedia services and intelligent energy distribution systems (Smart Grid), signed contracts with: the Copernicus Science Centre, Redefine Sp. z o.o. (a member of the Polsat group and operator of IPLA Internet television), Totalizator Sportowy, Chancellery of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland and Telewizja Polska S.A. Moreover, it expanded its cooperation with ITI Neovision onto streaming video content for N television and with TVN television onto coding video content by ATM MediaCoder application for the TVN Player project. As regards activity concerning Smart Grid, the company successfully continued implementation of the AMI application system for Energa-Operator S.A., developing an application for measurement data management and a system for data acquisition from measurement installations.
