ATM S.A. joins the Microsoft Cloud OS Network
03.09.2015

By joining the Microsoft Cloud OS Network, a program whose members already include nearly 250 leading providers of ICT services around the globe, ATM S.A. has gained an opportunity to offer its customers pioneering solutions for the Polish market. These include a new virtualized model for the Backup Office service, based on Microsoft cloud technology, as well as the upcoming DaaS (Desktop as a Service).

The Cloud OS Network is a program for service providers who, in cooperation with Microsoft, offer their own cloud solutions based on the Microsoft Cloud Platform. Under the program, Microsoft supports its partners in building services provided through their own data processing centers, enabling, among other things, cooperation with experts and access to the best practices for building solutions so as to enjoy advantages of scale. ATM S.A. is currently making use of this cooperation to launch new services tailored to the needs of the local market.

An example is Backup Office, which serves as an important element in a Business Continuity strategy. Under the Backup Office service, the customers complete working environment can be recreated in offices designated for that purpose. Working positions in these rooms are connected to the customers computer systems at its data processing center. In case of unforeseen lack of access to working positions at the organizations main site, Backup Office ensures the possibility of carrying on the interrupted business activity.

Under the new model for the Backup Office service, access to the customers business data is provided through Microsoft Windows virtual desktops. These make it possible to launch preconfigured workstations dynamically, in any desired room. In this way customers can continue their current business operations without interruption.

Membership of the Microsoft Cloud OS Network will also enable ATM to provide other services, such as DaaS, and services based on a private cloud model for firms that wish to change their existing operating model and take advantage of the flexibility and functionality offered by the ATMAN Cloud.

As the leader in the Polish colocation market, we are focused on quality, security and continuity of service, and we offer our customers a comprehensive range of services that is constantly being expanded. Therefore membership of the Cloud OS Network, with the ability to make use of the very latest advanced Microsoft cloud technologies, is an important step for us. It allows us to provide our customers with solutions in line with the latest trends, and to make use of all of the benefits of cloud technology in designing Backup Office services. These services enjoy a very high level of interest among our customers. We have similar expectations of the DaaS service, said Tadeusz Czichon, CEO of ATM S.A.

Cooperation with ATM S.A. is an excellent example of Microsofts strategy in building and delivering cloud services. We have taken our experience in creating the worlds largest cloud solutions and brought it to the Polish market, sharing it with local service providers so that they can create services tailored to local customer needs and increase their share of the cloud services market, said Przemysław Szuder, Small & Medium Business Solutions and Partners Director at Microsoft Poland.
