|ATMAN as partner of the 17th International Chopin Piano Competition|
The International Chopin Piano Competition is a prestigious event that enjoys huge popularity among music-lovers all over the world. To enable all those interested to witness either live or from a recording the efforts of the young artists at the National Philharmonic Concert Hall in Warsaw, the organizer of the competition, the National Fryderyk Chopin Institute, has made sure that this years edition has a broad presence on digital content distribution channels. It is being actively supported in this by ATMAN.
Transmissions of the competition auditions and recordings of individual performances are available on the competition website, on the Institutes YouTube channel, and via a specially prepared free app for smartphones and iPhones. To enable the competition to achieve this level of presence in electronic media, ATMAN, as the events official technological partner, has set up a number of Internet links in the National Philharmonic Hall, providing a stable network infrastructure for video and audio streaming. Apart from transmitting multimedia content to distribution platforms, the connections are also used for press and media coverage and for other organizational tasks.
A total of 455 magnificent pianists from 45 countries attempted to qualify for the International Chopin Piano Competition. A mere 160 of them were invited to take part in the qualifying round in Warsaw in April, of whom one half qualified for the competition itself, and the best ten will appear in the final concerts. The high level of interest in the event among Internet users is confirmed by, among other things, its Facebook page, which has already collected 40,000 likes in the course of the competition. By the end of the first stage of the competition, the YouTube channel had recorded almost 2.5 million views and gained 13,500 subscribers.
